A LATINA-OWNED FAMILY VINEYARD IN OREGON
WELCOME TO ALUMBRA CELLARS, A FAMILY-OWNED WINERY
Our vineyard near McMinnville was planted in 2005 by our father, Baudelio Rodriguez, an immigrant from Durango, Mexico, whose hands worked this soil long before wine ever filled our bottles. Today, Alumbra is proudly led by his daughter, Elena Rodriguez, one of the few Latina winemakers in the Pacific Northwest.
More than a winery, Alumbra is a celebration of Latino heritage, family, and Oregon roots. Our name means “to shine” — and everything we do honors that light: our ancestors, our land, and our community.
OUR FAMILY’S JOURNEY
In the 1970s, Baudelio came to the United States seeking opportunity. After settling in Oregon with his wife and raising a family, he purchased land in Dayton in 1996 — a plot of promise that would one day become Alumbra Cellars.
By 2005, rows of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris vines were planted, and our family's story took root in the Willamette Valley wine community. Elena, driven by a desire to carry her father’s vision forward, took over operations and became a first-generation winemaker — merging tradition, innovation, and cultura.
OUR MISSION
Alumbra exists to tell a new story in wine — one where immigrant grit, Latina leadership, and deep love for the land all come together in every bottle. We're here to make space for voices like ours and to reflect the vibrant diversity of the land we farm.
Whether you're sipping our wine under the Oregon sun or pouring it at your family table, you’re part of that story.
SUSTAINABLE FARMING PRACTICES
As a sustainable vineyard in Oregon, we farm with intention — respecting the land that sustains us. We use minimal intervention, hand-harvest our fruit, and cultivate biodiversity in our vineyard to ensure longevity for future generations.
Our practices reflect our values: stewardship, care, and resilience.

CELEBRATING OUR MILESTONES
Since our first harvest, Alumbra Cellars has grown from a local dream to a celebrated name among minority-owned wineries in the Pacific Northwest. We've been featured by Travel Oregon, Wine Enthusiast, and local publications for our unique perspective and commitment to cultural authenticity.
